Renowned numerologist and spiritual expert Sidhharrth S Kumaar presented his research paper at the ICSSR Vision Viksit Bharat@2047 International Conference held at IIM Nagpur. The conference aimed to shape India as a diverse, equitable, and inclusive society, bringing together scholars, researchers, and experts from various fields. Discussions focused on gender diversity, social inclusion, and mental health, with a strong emphasis on empowering the transgender community socially, economically, and psychologically.
In his research paper, Sidhharrth S Kumaar highlighted the role of numerology and spirituality in improving mental health and self-acceptance. The study included 40 transgender participants and revealed that adopting numerology-based spiritual practices significantly reduced psychological distress and social isolation. According to the DASS-21 scale, participants' average stress score dropped from 24.8 (moderate to severe distress) to 13.6 (mild distress) after incorporating numerology and spirituality into their lives. Similarly, the SCI scale measuring social inclusion improved from 2.8 to 4.6, indicating that numerology and spiritual practices helped participants feel more accepted and supported in society.
The study also found that numerology-based name changes helped participants affirm their identity with confidence. Spiritual practices such as meditation, mantra chanting, and energy alignment enhanced self-confidence and contributed to greater emotional stability. The research demonstrated that when individuals perceive their struggles as part of a spiritual journey, they are more likely to move toward self-empowerment and acceptance.
At IIM Nagpur, the conference featured Dr. Bhimaraya Metri (Director, IIM Nagpur) and Arvind Kumar (Director General, Software Technology Parks of India - STPI), who shared their insights on India’s future development, industry-academia collaboration, and inclusive society building. LGBTQI+ activists, researchers, corporate leaders, and startup entrepreneurs participated in discussions on gender diversity, mental health, and social inclusion. The cultural events featured Manipur-based filmmaker Santa Khurai’s film ‘Nawa – The Spirit of Atey’, depicting the journey of a 13-year-old transgender boy, and a solo theatrical performance ‘Vellai Mozhi’ by renowned transgender actor, writer, and activist Revathi A, which highlighted the realities faced by the transgender community.
During the closing session, all participants reaffirmed their commitment to making India a more inclusive and just society. Sidhharrth S Kumaar’s research received special appreciation at the conference as a unique integration of India’s ancient wisdom with modern scientific approaches. He emphasized that numerology and spirituality are not just matters of faith but can also serve as effective tools for improving mental health. This study contributed a new perspective to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, reinforcing the importance of blending traditional knowledge with contemporary scientific frameworks.
