Navratri 2022: Life lessons from Maa Shailputri - Day 1 Navratri
The daughter of Himalaya, Goddess of strength and better half of Lord Shiva - Shailputri is the first manifestation of Devi Durga. Her name means - "The Daughter of the Mountains". Justifying her name, she teaches us to stand tall, strong, resilient, and composed like the mountains.
The major life lesson from Maa Shailputri's existence is that it's okay to have faith, even if you're going through the most difficult phase of your life.
Born as Sati in her previous life, she gave her all to attain the love and devotion of her husband Shiva. But when her father, Daksha who was against their marriage insulted Shiva in front of a full assembly, she sacrificed herself to Agni Devta only to be reincarnated again as Parvati and gain back a life full of love and respect with Lord Shiva.
Her journey inspires us to stay consistent on our paths. We learn perseverance, courage, and discipline from her. Maa Shailputri teaches us that we are capable of achieving anything if only we try hard enough and set our minds. Hindus worship Maa Shailputri on the first day of Navratri to celebrate her courage, strength, and the message to keep going even if the whole world seems against you.
